BANFF NATIONAL PARK  (located 80 kilometres (50  miles) west of Calgary

If you want to go outside the city, you can travel to Banff National Park and take in the sites there: go to www.pc.gc.ca  to find out about Banff, Lake Louise, or travelling north on the Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefield Glacier Adventure. If you keep going north from there, you end up in Jasper, another world famous destination. There is a town just outside the boundaries of Banff called Canmore, which also has attractions, and the lodging will be more reasonable than staying right in Banff.
